Frequently asked questions
To import AI chat history, you'll first need to export your data from your current AI provider. You can usually find this option in your other app's settings under "Data Controls" or "Privacy" to export your data. Once you download your file, you can upload it directly into Gemini to bring your AI history with you.
Currently, we support .zip files for your chat history imports (up to 5 GB).
No, you cannot import project files, but our tool allows you to import your full chat history from other AI providers by uploading a .zip file. From there, you can upload any files into Gemini directly.
When you import your AI chat history, the text of your chats will be transferred over to Gemini. Images and files generated in your previous app will not be included.
Once imported, your AI chats will appear in your left-hand Menu under “Chats,” marked with a special imported chat icon.
To delete a single chat: Find the chat in your menu, click the More icon, and select Delete.
To delete an entire batch: You can delete all AI conversations from a specific .zip file by clicking the trash icon next to that specific import entry in your Settings.
